I earned an English degree from Washington and Lee University and studied literature at Oxford and the University of Virginia, then pivoted 180 degrees and spent six years building quantitative financial risk models for investment firms. (Weird but true: I like math almost as much as I like words.) For the past 15+ years I've worked as a writer, editor, and communications consultant while raising three girls and investing time supporting non-profit causes I hold dear.
